    Conceptual roles of data in program: analyses and applications

    Program comprehension is the prerequisite for many software evolution and maintenance tasks. Currently, the research falls short in addressing how to build tools that can use domain-specific knowledge to provide powerful capabilities for extracting valuable information for facilitating program comprehension. Such capabilities are critical for working with large and complex program where program comprehension often is not possible without the help of domain-specific knowledge.;Our research advances the state-of-art in program analysis techniques based on domain-specific knowledge. The program artifacts including variables and methods are carriers of domain concepts that provide the key to understand programs. Our program analysis is directed by domain knowledge stored as domain-specific rules. Our analysis is iterative and interactive. It is based on flexible inference rules and inter-exchangeable and extensible information storage. We designed and developed a comprehensive software environment SeeCORE based on our knowledge-centric analysis methodology. The SeeCORE tool provides multiple views and abstractions to assist in understanding complex programs. The case studies demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. We demonstrate the flexibility of our approach by analyzing two legacy programs in distinct domains

    A new constrained mKP hierarchy and the generalized Darboux transformation for the mKP equation with self-consistent sources

    The mKP equation with self-consistent sources (mKPESCS) is treated in the framework of the constrained mKP hierarchy. We introduce a new constrained mKP hierarchy which may be viewed as the stationary hierarchy of the mKP hierarchy with self-consistent sources. This offers a natural way to obtain the Lax representation for the mKPESCS. Based on the conjugate Lax pairs, we construct the generalized Darboux transformation with arbitrary functions in time tt for the mKPESCS which, in contrast with the Darboux transformation for the mKP equation, provides a non-auto-B\"{a}cklund transformation between two mKPESCSs with different degrees. The formula for nn-times repeated generalized Darboux transformation is proposed and enables us to find the rational solutions (including the lump solutions), soliton solutions and the solutions of breather type of the mKPESCS.Comment: 23 pages, no figures. to appeare in Physica

    High Nitrogen Levels Alleviate Yield Loss of Super Hybrid Rice Caused by High Temperatures During the Flowering Stage

    The effect of high temperatures on rice production has attracted considerable research attention. It is not clear, however, whether nitrogen (N) management can be used to alleviate the damaging effects of high temperatures on flowering in rice. In this study, we compared the yields of five elite super hybrid rice varieties and examined their heat tolerance under four N treatments in two seasons with contrasting temperatures at flowering: 2015 (normal temperature) and 2016 (high temperature). The average daily temperature during the flowering stage in 2016 was 31.1°C, which was 4.5°C higher than that in 2015. There was a significant positive correlation between grain yield and N level (R2 = 0.42, P < 0.01). However, mean grain yield of the five rice varieties in 2015 was 10.5% higher than that in 2016. High N levels reduced yield losses in plants exposed to high temperature in 2016. The mean seed-set percentage in 2016 was 13.0% lower than that in 2015 at higher N levels, but spikelets per panicle increased by 7.6% at higher N levels compared with lower N levels. Higher N levels reduced the number of degenerated spikelets under high temperatures. Spikelets per panicle and N treatment level were positively correlated at high temperatures (R2 = 0.32, P < 0.05). These results confirmed that increasing N application could alleviate yield losses caused by high temperatures in super hybrid rice during the flowering stage

    The KP equation with self-consistent sources (KPESCS) is treated in the framework of the constrained KP equation. This offers a natural way to obtain the Lax representation for the KPESCS. Based on the conjugate Lax pairs, we construct the generalized binary Darboux transformation with arbitrary functions in time tt for the KPESCS which, in contrast with the binary Darboux transformation of the KP equation, provides a non-auto-B\"{a}cklund transformation between two KPESCSs with different degrees.     Molecular vasculogenic mimicry–Related signatures predict clinical outcomes and therapeutic responses in bladder cancer: Results from real-world cohorts

    Bladder cancer (BLCA) is a heterogeneous disease, and there are many classical molecular subtypes that reflect tumor immune microenvironment (TME) heterogeneity but their clinical utility is limited and correct individual treatment and prognosis cannot be predicted based on them. To find reliable and effective biomarkers and tools for predicting patients’ clinical responses to several therapies, we developed a new systemic indicator of molecular vasculogenic mimicry (VM)–related genes mediated by molecular subtypes based on the Xiangya cohort and additional external BLCA cohorts using a random forest algorithm. A correlation was then done between the VM_Score and classical molecular subtypes, clinical outcomes, immunophenotypes, and treatment options for BLCA. With the VM_Score, it is possible to predict classical molecular subtypes, immunophenotypes, prognosis, and therapeutic potential of BLCA with high accuracy. The VM_Scores of high levels indicate a more anticancer immune response but a worse prognosis due to a more basal and inflammatory phenotype. The VM_Score was also found associated with low sensitivity to antiangiogenic and targeted therapies targeting the FGFR3, β-catenin, and PPAR-γ pathways but with high sensitivity to cancer immunotherapy, neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. A number of aspects of BLCA biology were reflected in the VM_Score, providing new insights into precision medicine. Additionally, the VM_Score may be used as an indicator of pan-cancer immunotherapy response and prognosis
